1. Agreement to terms

By accessing or using the Roots ICT website (rootsict.co.za) and our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our website or services.

2. Services

Roots ICT provides data analytics, data engineering, cloud data solutions, and embedded analytics services including the Reporting Portal product. Specific deliverables, timelines and fees are agreed in separate service agreements or statements of work between Roots ICT and the client.

3. Use of the website

You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Use the website in any way that violates applicable local, national or international law
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its systems
• Use the website to transmit any harmful, threatening or offensive material
• Reproduce, duplicate or copy any content from the website for commercial purposes without our written consent

4. Intellectual property

All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, icons, images and software, is the property of Roots ICT or its content suppliers and is protected by South African and international copyright laws. The Roots ICT name, logo and related marks are trademarks of Roots ICT.

5. Reporting Portal terms

The following additional terms apply to clients using the Reporting Portal product:

• Bring Your Own Licence: you are responsible for maintaining your own Microsoft Azure AD tenant, Power BI / Fabric capacity, and any required Microsoft licences.
• Data ownership: Roots ICT does not host, store or take ownership of your Power BI reports, data or workspaces. All data remains in your Microsoft environment.
• Subscription: Reporting Portal is billed monthly or annually according to the published pricing tiers. Pricing may be updated with 30 days' written notice.
• Trial period: the 30-day trial is provided at no cost. No credit card is required. The setup fee is invoiced only when you go live after the trial.
• Cancellation: you may cancel your Reporting Portal subscription at any time with 30 days' notice. Upon cancellation, your Power BI reports, workspaces and data remain unaffected in your own Microsoft tenant.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, Roots ICT shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of our website or services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid us for services in the twelve months preceding the claim.

7. Disclaimer

The information on this website is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. Roots ICT does not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components. We make no guarantees regarding specific business outcomes from our services.

8. Confidentiality

Any confidential information shared between Roots ICT and its clients during the course of service delivery will be treated as confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties without prior written consent, except where required by law.

9. Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

10. Changes to these terms

Roots ICT reserves the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective when posted on this page. Your continued use of the website after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
